Management, Policy, Science, and Engineering of Nonstructural Erosion Control in the Chesapeake Bay/CRC 0164_08
In December 2006, the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in
Virginia hosted the Living Shoreline Summit in Williamsburg, Virginia. These proceedings are a result of that 2-day meeting which included individuals from local, state
and federal government, county and city wetlands boards, non-profit organizations,
environmental consultants, state and local regulatory boards, academicians, marine
contractors, local nurserymen, and private landowners.
Funding for the Living Shoreline Summit and proceedings was provided through
grants from a number of organizations, and the editors and Steering Committee are
extremely grateful to: Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Maryland, Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Virginia, Chesapeake
Bay Trust, Chesapeake Research Consortium, Keith Campbell Foundation for the Environment, NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office, NOAA Chesapeake Bay Restoration Center,
Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program, Virginia Department of Conservation
and Recreation, and Virginia Institute of Marine Science.
